Wow, I really enjoyed reading the thread bro. Looks like a lot of work went into it! Looks amazing! I really appreciate you explaining you gear as well and all the little details like the acoustic treatment.

I have a finished basement where all my gear is and I'm reading and learning about home studio set ups. I'm not going to go all out but I think there are things I can do like acoustic treatments to better the sound in the room.

Great stuff! Keep it coming folks!!!

Cheers man, yes we rent the building, we got it mainly for our own use producing our shows with the intention of hiring it out here and there for rehearsals and recording etc to cover the cost but it has snowballed. its fast becoming the hub for musicians in our town.

we use a studiomaster 24-8-16 gold board, digi 002r, iMac, and reveall active nearfields. we also have a g4 tower for admin and macbook pro with another pr of tannoys for video production.

We have only had the keys for 5 months but are settling in quite nicely. keep a look out for our live lounge style internet tv show coming soon... Music Vibe TV

I am useing Windows XP pro with Sonor Producer. I am not even takeing advantage of all the functions of that DM24. I have a ADAT card in my computer I have the DM24 hooked up to. Also a coaxil connection.
    I am useing a STA C-port 8in 8out AD Converter.
That Tranzport is a must if your tracking by yourself or drumming in a booth or different room than your Console/DAW. It has saved me untold hours. For those unfamiliar, it is a wireless remote for your DAW that controls many of the same functions as if you were sitting at the console. No running back and forth from your drums to your DAW/Console. You can get your levels then never have to leave your drum throne until you are satisfied with a take. It's the little blue remote sitting below and to the right of my computer keyboard.

Very Cool! love the faders. I am PC so not sure if a Ipad or any Mac stuff is going to sync up. I am seriously considering going to a dual set up.
I have seen so many consoles and things you can run with ipad apps.
I want to get in to video editing more and may invest in a Mac for that.
Maybe a Macbook as my PC laptop is ageing a bit.
I can do basic video stuff now but think it would give my studio a boost in clientele if I can offer pro video options. I don't have a good enough camera to actually do top quality video capture but if I can start with people bringing me there digital source videos for editing that would be a start.

Hey TPD. I use it for a "crush" mic. I run an sm7b mic into it and compress the crud out of the signal making a really distorted dirty sound. Then I mix it back into the drum tracks very subtly which really gives a nice quality to the drum tracks. I also like using the la-610 with the sm7 for male rock vocals. Thanks for the compliment

xweasel, that and some decent headphones / Monitor speakers, a few mic's, and a digital/audio interface and your in business. You can mix in the box and make really good recordings. Most DAW software comes with eq's, efx, compressors, all kind of things to shape and mix your tracks.
