Has anyone ever tried the Paiste Alpha Rock Crash Cymbals (brilliant)??
I tried themout at GC and was really digging their sound, but I wanted to know if they would sound good on a recording or just playing drums in the basement...

Hi there! Yeah, I've had an older version of a Paiste 16" Thin Crash mixed in with the rest of my cymbals. Still sounds great. You might be interested to know that both the Paiste Alpha and the higher-end 2002 lines use exactly the same bronze alloy.

I use a 18" Alpha Crash and hats within my set up. They sound pretty cool to me.

I played a 16" yesterday and hated it, but I'm more in to thinner, bigger cymbals.

I have a 18inch alpha rock crash in my set up mixedin with my bosphorus golds. It fits in nicely and is great in a live setting. Have recorded with it also and sounds sweet.
I play, Gretsch Catalina Birch, 7 piece in the vintage sunburst finish.
