Use it anyway. You have to get pretty famous before anyone will bother you.

gotta be metal or punk with a name like that. it has to have been used already. im sure you could still use parasite if you like added something to it. like deadly parasite. bleeding parasite, anal parasite, ringo and the amazing anal parasites....any of wich would be hardcore and less cliche.

indeed there is a white light/ guitar / ambience / techno band called Parasite. and there is a american pop-punk band called Parasites.

in fact thanks for making this thread without it i wouln't have discovered Parasite. I'm a fan now.

I think The Parasite, These Parasites, would be good.
Actually I think i just came up with a great name depending on your style of music try Parasight...? I want royalties if you become really really famous...though

Any name ideas for a band style that has a skanky reggae flavor of sublime, marley, with a touch of and hip-hop rap?
Edit: the band has been established for a while and now hooked up with an mc who really has talent.

I think, I'd go with Funky's idea. I really like "Ringo and the Amazing Anal Parasites!" Way to go, Funky!!

For something kind of along the same lines, you could have Symbiote, but that's probably already taken.
It has a bit more awesomeness though >_>

you could always change up the spelling, like Parasyte, or use some wierd capitalization, classic J-metal techniques

    Is that your band, Jack?
It is now. I just tried out last weekend. The original band has over 90
cover tunes. Working band, plays local gigs..private parties etc. A good
friend of mine is the drummer for the band. Showed me a cd of 10 original
songs about a month ago. I started listening to it, and playing my congas
along. I was asked to come down to a sunday practice. During our first
break they told me im in. We have a talented crew who can play and sing
all kinds of stuff from 70's to present and a sweet MC who can lay down
vocals, along with our lead guitarist and basist and rythm guitarist and
drummer who all sing Id love to post a link to the new material
but were only releasing little bits to friends and family. Jan. is the goal
for an album release. For now you can check out the cover bands myspace
    over here....http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=26398696
