thanks, but do you sacrifice sustain without the cymbal? i live a sheltered drum life!

Best way for you to find out what it sounds like is to look up clips on youtube. Hard to describe. Hearing is always best.

Digital is right on. I use them A LOT. I use them in conjunction with the bell of the ride for effect.

I use the 6 and 9.5" Zil Bels. The 9.5" is massively thick and will sustain for days when you hit it.

Not to thread jack Digital's kit here but I use them in the intro (and the rest of this song):

These are the bags I finally settled on. The Humes & Berg Seeker series. Very plush and thick. I like 'em a lot.

Here's what's waiting for me tomorrow. Going to take hours to set up.

...and a decent close up of the 8" tom. Can't really see the metallic shimmer in the paint, but it's gorgeous.

I noticed you got the older FT brackets (like mine). Are your FTs a tight squeeze in their bags?

Yeah, they're tight but still a decent fit.

Lovely cymbals! They all look so clean too, did you bathe them?

Oh man, I'm all giddy just looking at it.

    WTG!!!!

That ensemble is going to be massive when you have it all set up. You're probably going to need a bigger mem-card for your camera.

    Just sayin'

Not yet, my band mates are coming over tonight so I'll get them to help. Should go faster with 2-3 people.

There's a few missing pieces. The tom holders weren't there, so I borrowed 2x 12.7mm L-rods until the right ones come in. I won't be able to use the 8" tom for awhile, but I can live with that.

The legless snare and hi-hat are also missing parts, so I'll borrow the ones from my e-kit temporarily. The deccabons aren't here either, but that won't affect anything.

I dunno. Too many people, too crowded.

When you bring the boys home for the first time, you need the alone/bonding time to really get to know them.

Enjoy the fun of building the kit to a usable condition and then tweaking to exactly what you want...mmmm...better than chicken noodle soup.

Well they helped a bit, but it didn't take too long that they wanted to jam, so I only got it up half way. It's nowhere near ergonomic yet. Mounted it half-assed just to play quickly.

Thanks man, I haven't had much time to play them. Been too busy. As soon as I can have a few hours to myself and setup the webcam, I'll post a new one.
