    Default Bass Batter Head

Looking to replace my bass drum head. Any recommendations? I've read some good reviews on the Evans Adjustable Dampening EMAD Bass Drumhead.

The aquarian super kick 2's are really popular.

I'm gonna have to suggest the Aquarian Superkick II, and if you buy it you might as well get the batter and resonant head because it makes the bass sound like a rock against a whale lol. Imagine what that would sound like.... A better term would be like thunder. Very good product, I use it and love it. Make sure to cover the batter with a beater badge so you dont rip the head though.

Mmm, what sound are you going for? A round bottom end or one with a lot of attack w/ bottom?

Thanks, guys. I went w/the Evans EMAD II & EMAD resonant. Now, what's the best way to tune? I like a nice thump w/ minimal resonance. Do i chuck the pillow or put it back in?

    chuck the pillow
and tune it so that the resonant side is extremely tight and the batter side is very loose
