Nice. Although it didn't take off stick marks, did it get rid of some of the grime and dirt? Was it a multi-surface like Pledge? I like using that on the drums in
between major cleanings. Works well. Never thought to try it on cymbals.
I decided I got tired of looking at the dust on my cymbals last night and decided to clean the whole kit. I grabbed a can of furniture polish and went at the drums. Got to thinking, how the polish would work on cymbals. I took one of my small splashes and it came out nice and shiny! So I hit them all. I was pleased with the results. It does'nt take off the stick marks, but it sure puts a shine on the cymbals.

Interesting.. You wouldn't think that a cleaner designed for wood would work well with metals, bronze in particular. Did it keep the logos intact or did they rub off?

Not only that, but Pledge is a wax as well, so it's going to put a micro layer of protective wax on everything, which will also help.

Possibly, but I doubt it would be more of a buildup than normal dust and grime that gets on them.

Nice!
I have been using Pledge (non-lemon) on my cymbals for probably a year now... polish them maybe once a month... maybe a little more if I am gigging often.

It didn't bother the logo's at all. Mine are red, so if they would have come off on the rag, I would have seen a red tint on the cloths.
As far as a dual cleaner, it seemed to work fine. Keep in mind, this was just to take the dust off. I wasn't looking to do a deep clean, but they really shined them up nice.

I'm still not sure about the whole don't clean your cymbal thing affecting thier sound. Maybe maybe not.
I'll be honest and say that I have left my cymbals alone for months and really can't say either way. Thats why I don't worry about it. The sound, if it does change is so minute, I can't recognise it.
It may create a build up, but I would think only after a long period of heavy use. I mean, how much build up do you see or feel on furniture?

Well, I hate stick marks also, and me being a tinkerer I hit all the cymbals with my regular cymbal cleaner and them finished them off with the furniture polish.
I can safely say, they came out looking really close to new. I am totaly amazed. I wouldn't want to clean them with my cymbal cleaner every time cause it does wear on the logo's, but hitting them with the polish every now and then wouldn't hurt and use both every once in a great while.
