    Default problems with condenser mics

Hi, I am using a alessis multimix 8 and using standard 1/4"ts jack and still not hearing anything from my condenser mic. My phantom power switch is on and wondering if i need a different type of mic cable such as a XLR cable. Need help.

    Keep drumming

Do you have monitors or headphones? On some interfaces like a zoom r16, not all inputs are phantom powered so make sure to try that mic on all of them first.

I recently got a MultiMix 8. It was USB 1.1, should have been the 2.0. I returned it and now I have a US800.
The MM8 is a great little mixer I heard, good choice!

Condenser mics will not work when used with a TS to XLR or TRS to XLR cable. It has to be an XLR to XLR cable only. Once you plug it in with an XLR to XLR cable, it will run great.

    Good luck, and keep drumming!
