    Post Old Hi hat cymbals

    I have these old hi hat cymbals right, and i was wondering if i could turn them into crash cymbals?? I know, ur gonna say why dont u just go buy some crashes but my crash cracked and im waiting for my new crash to be shipped to me.... Should i use them or not??

    depends on how heavy they are..hi-hats arent made for crashing..but maybe the bottom one would work.

    It depends on how it sounds, plain and simple. If it sounds good, you can use anything!

    I imagine the top would sound better for crashing. As hi-hats typically aren't very large in diameter the thinner of the 2 would produce a better sound. I think the bottom, being so thick, would produce a sound closer to that of a trash can. But I could be wrong.

    They are pritty thick...... so u think they will sound ok?

    Just try it out, as you say, they are old cymbals. Who care's if u crack them?
