I'd have to say Steve Gadd, he plays a wide range of styles and he would be the drummer I would most like to emulate. I would like to have him teach me a variety of beats and fills for different styles of playing. Maybe someday!! he does live here in our City.

Heh, I'd like a lot of drummers to teach me.

I'd like a teacher that was not a "phenom." I want someone who had to work at learning his/her craft, so that he/she could understand what I am going through; pushing me when I need pushing, and encouraging me when I need encouraging.

thats really true actually, i mean if you had an ... Alian lets say, and he was born the best at drums and knew all the moves, he could certainly teach you what he knows, but it would be very hard because he would expect you do get everything really fast and he wouldnt be able to get into your shoes.
