Oh definitely! We sure need this kinda thread. Everything from what you want in your monitor mix to 101 uses for gaff tape, to wondering what black hole your cymbal stand's wing nut has magically disappeared into when you're setting up on stage, to trying to find the closest 15 mins parking spot to the venue so you don't have to haul your kit 5 blocks away.
Or the horrors of breaking a stick mid-way through a song and as you frantically reach for the next stick in your stick bag, the next one you pick up looks the same size as your others, but feels like you're suddenly playing a baseball bat, making the one in the other hand feel like a pencil. We all know that, right?

yeah a new section
just stick it in more drumming topics ...
It's a great suggestion, ultimately I think it's a decision of the admin though. I would think if the idea raises enough interest, it becomes a greater possibility. I never even thought of the idea, and it doesn't seem like we already have any similar sections. Good of you to get the ball rolling and suggest it, we'll just have to wait and see what the final word is. Even if the idea is refused, I still think you should go ahead and try for a thread. You've got my support.

It's kind of a given that most of the forum is about live drumming. Everything that's not gear is covered under General Drum Chat. Then of course you have the other specialties... studio drums, marching, etc.
was thinking more specificity playing on stage
i know there is a huge difference from playing in a bed room
Why not make this the thread? Couldn't have picked a better title yeah?

"I consider every drummer that ever played before me an influence, in every way." (Buddy Rich)
"How do you keep 90 people together with one stick? I've got two sticks and i can't keep 5 people together." (Ian Paice)
Where do you want it? I'm asking for approval first, but i'll be happy to stick it somewhere else where it will get more attention. That way you guys can easily find it and discuss anything on live drums your heart desires. Just a thought.
Edit: Heard back and they want it to stay here, my guess is because it addresses another concern as well. It seems to make sense, but I wouldn't be opposed to a thread that is dedicated to just live drums talk in a more frequented area.

Guys... Most of what we talk about is live drums playing therefore, anything that's not already sectioned as something else (like recording, marching drums, etc.) is in fact about "live drums". So a separate section for this is not needed. The main part of the forum already addresses everything related to live playing. "General drum chat" also cover it.
The problem with creating a whole new section for things is that it makes the main part of the forum too long. And much of the time we start something that was requested and then it doesn't really get used that much. An example of this is "Album Reviews". It only has 18 threads in it.

Aww gee, to think that I was just going to do a review on an album earlier today, lol. Gonna have to disagree with you on that choice mon frére, there will be forthcoming contributions, don't worry. Just wish I had 48 hours instead of 24 hours in a dday, then I can get everything done!
