Default New Sonor Safari Jungle Kit

.... is arriving any moment now. Will post pics/vids as soon as possible. Here's the drum room... Gretsch kit is stowed, rack has been taken down, and a few of the cymbals have been mounted on boom stands awaiting the arrival...

    Drums... That's how I roll!

..sadly no, I had a guy come over to buy some cymbals from me and he wanted the Yamaha's badly... so I made him a package deal. ( I got them free with the Hex rack) .

Right now we have Tama(x2), Sonor (x2), Pearl, the Gretsch Renowns , and the Yamaha E-drums on the Hex rack... so when the Luddies come we'll have eight drum kits... plus congas, cajons, etc.

I did see a pretty good deal on a set of Yamaha Tour Customs in Brown Fade tho.... hmmmm

Dave, I noticed the hanging tom. Is the sound better mounted that way? I tried that with my Sonors and couldn't hear any difference.

I only mounted it that way so the ball socket would be "bottomed out" ... that way it can't drop below where I have it set even if some dipstick turns the wingnut. I'm probably just paranoid... but it's a goofy habit I got into with kits that get left at clubs or practice rooms.

Are those fun to play or what ??? Nice wrap too. Looks a little odd the way your raising your bass tom mount so high to hang the tom from the bottom.. How do you like that nice stainless steel riser? I wish they had given us 4 of those memory locks. I use 2 on the floor tom legs and one on the riser so I don't have to fool with it when setting up the bass drum.
Did you change the tom and snare heads? How do you like the snare? I think it is fine. Mine sounds pretty decent.
