Well, DC, it appears that you might have the opportunity to learn to like short guys named Tom! (talk about hijacking a thread!)

When I was in college a bunch of us were sitting around with a female friend and we were trying to figure out which guys would be good looking to a woman. Never did get it right! I guess I did figure which guys I thought were hot though! That was a scary thought!!!

Sorry Roger, I didn't mean to ruin your thread.......
Rodger, to get this thread back on track, if you are thinking about gigging with short toms, I would think that you'd have to really have them well miced because the projection of the sound just wouldn't be the same as a deeper drum. If you're thinking about this for a practice kit at home, it might not be such a bad idea, but then the question might become, if you get used to one sound, how would you deal with the sound of a different kit with deeper shells?
Just some thoughts off the top of my head.

I'm thinking of shorter toms for a home practice kit, I have a PDPX7 for gigs with my band etc.
