New addition to my Superstar kit

After much searching online, and waiting while they apparently ordered it, I finally got a 14" FT to match my Superstars in Red Silk.

The only one I could find was the hyperdrive (short) 14x12, but it's a nice compliment to my 16x16 sonically, even with a slightly used G2 instead of a matching EC2. The only downside, which I didn't realize until I got it, is that the hyperdrives have black nickel hardware, whereas my kit has chrome. Fortunately I don't think it's that noticeable tucked in with the kit.

Superstars are birch right? My Starclassic toms are 14x11 and 16x13. The 14 tunes remarkably easy and sounds so incredible. Just an ideal tom sound to me. The 16, however, is a royal pain. So much so that I don't use it.

Will it blend in with the rest of the kit?

I sure like the size combinations you ended up with. I believe you'll like the range you have now.

I don't have a matching EC2 head on it yet, but the quick verdict is it absolutely fits. I haven't really been able to play it much other than fooling around for a few minutes, but I'm very happy about having it.

In fact, I wonder if it will end up working better than a 14x14, because with the depth difference there's even more distinction between the two FT's.
