What is your question exactly? Are you deciding between the two or looking for an alternative to them both?

I don't understand the nature of your question but for me I like 5A's. 7A's just feel to thin and light, 5B and anything bigger feels too big and heavy. I like the size and weight of the Vic Firth 5A's that I have been using for years.

5b and up are my personal favorites because i always enjoy playing the heavier stick, but i would have to say 5a, 7a is to to light.

I have some VF 7A's and some VF 5A's, but I prefer the Vater Chad Smith's Funk Blasters. I bought 2 pairs about 6 months ago & one pair is still in the packet, unused. They last forever & have just the right feel for me.
