I recently read a thread in this section from a member who knocked the windscreen off of a Shure Beta 57 microphone while playing. I thought I'd share a few pages from Shure's Educational Manual on drum mic placement so other members including myself, could benefit from this knowledge to avoid a similar situation.

i actually think there's a benefit to moving the mics back away from the heads a touch... sounds more natural to me.
