Yes, he has, but, I still think Hal Blaine has him beat.
he has.
most recorded drummer on Earth. though a few guys are going to beat him one day
he didnt make the list of best studio drummer this year.
hes gone off to put out his own music. Quincy Jones has his back. i got a free CD from him, not my cup of tea, it was crap.
i was in his master class a year ago and he got a phone call that he had to take, it was his son whos doing his first piano recital in an hour, he put him on speaker and we all wished him good luck. he was studying with The Dudes' (Quincy Jones) grandchild.
he asked us if we had seen Hangover 2 yet, it was coming out in a week, he laughed and said hed seen it. he played drums on the soundtrack.

I think that the guy is fantastic and having done some recording recently, my hat is off to guys like J.R. Robinson who do it daily for their living. The fact that he does it with such finesse and style really tells the story of what kind of drummer he is. When Celine Dion or Babs decide to go on tour, he's the first drummer they call. Must be rough to be that good.
Your = possessive - your stuff, your dog, your car, etc
You're = you are - a contraction.
Learn it. Love it.
He's fantastic, and one of the most respected drummers in my book.

I think when drum machines first heard the first minute or so on Steve Winwood's "Higher Love", they worried for their studio jobs, lol.
