TD-12 is certainly a good looking kit.

So, here are my bongos
And a Tama Rockstar snare that my friends father-in-law found on the side of the road.... hence the beat up head. Oddly enough the rim, and drum are untouched. It sounds great though, even with the bad head!
Here are my only two effects cymbals, the splash is newly polished, but the ride and china are in need of work soon.
Here is my djembe... and Frodo

Thats the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it.
A good shot of my not so good electric.
My piccolo snare, 13x4, it's pretty piercing, but decays quick.
Here are all three of my snares.
Heres a shot of my bass head (Evans eq3) and Tama Iron Cobra double pedal. mmmmmm gotta love the Iron Cobra.
Sorry... had to do it in two posts, didn't realize that only four pics were allowed per post.

Nice Kryshah! Looks like you've got it going on, bro.!! What kind of e-kit do you have?

It's a "generic" kit. I'd never heard of them before, but I won it on ebay for $350, so I couldn't be too picky. Name of the brand is Lloyd Audio. They sell it on amazon too. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. If you're into electric, save up and get a yamaha, or even better a roland.
Thanks man! It's actually short three cymbals and a tom right now (I put them on the kit at my church for the time being.)
If I can ever figure out my camcorder, I'll get video of my playing my kit and my hand drums.

Ahhh dude, what an awesome find! A great snare on the side of the road, wow. Way to go man, it all looks sweet.

I've only have a 6pc shellpack so far and I just bought some cymbals on the weekend. I haven't played in 31 years, but I'm starting to get back into it. It's as much fun as I remembered - although my "chops" are a little rusty.
The only hardware I have so far is a new Gibraltar 9611sd single, a 800 series snare stand (don't really like it - not enough adjustment for me) and two Gibraltar 9813DP tripod tom stands that I will be using as a hybrid Rack/stand. So as you can see I haven't got my drums set up yet but I thought I'd post what I have so far for those that may be interested.
The cymbals are Istanbul Agop - a "whack" of em as you can see. The shellpack is Renown Purewood African Mahogany 1822, 1616, 1414, 0912, 0810 and a 145.5 snare.
If there's interest I can describe the cymbals.
Here's some photos:
those will look sick set up.
and how do the istanbuls sound?
play till the day i die. it makes more sense that way.

Kona, welcome back! Nice kit! I am a Gretsch fan as well, although I am playing Catalina maple, not Renown! I look forward to seeing your kit set up! I, too, have the six piece shell pack, and I love that deep amber wood grain look (yours looks a lot like mine). Bongobro, and some of the other hand drummers will love the congas, and bongos!
Good to have you with us!

Kona, very very nice man! The congas are beautiful. I haven't heard much about Istanbul cymbals. Are they pretty good stuff? I'd like to hear more about them.

I haven't heard about those cymbals too, but that one on the left with the natural finish looks good.

Whoa Kona, that set is freakin awesome. You really went back into drumming with a bang, man! Please do describe the Instanbuls dude. I've only seen them once on an old guys set, but have never heard them. They look pretty cool.

Kona, I ran across some Istanbul cymbals at a music store in town. Nice sound!

They sound absolutely spectacular.
I'm having a hard time finding Gibraltar Hardware for the set-up I want to do. I saw it on Page 16 of the Gibraltar Hardware Tech Report January 07 catalog. I've ordered some pieces - it's a hybrid Rack/cymbal stand thing. I have the two 9813DP stands required, but I can't seem to get the 24" straight Gibraltar Tubes - I ordered them and Curved tubes were sent - I sent them back. It looks like I can buy 30" tubes - maybe I will go with that.
It will be next year at this rate before I get my kit and cymbals set up.
Do you know of a retailer that is able to get "all" of Gibraltar's hardware and is able to ship to Canada?
wow that set is beastly, did you have all the old cymbals saved or did you just buy them? and same with the set. if that is a new set, what kind did you have before?

Thanks.
Yes - I noticed your Gretsch kit was similar to mine - nice.
I ordered mine in May and I got it in September. I haven't set it up yet - no hardware - that's starting to get to me. I've hit them a few times, but I have them packed away now (all but the snare - rudiments you know) and I'm getting a little twitchy when I look at the boxes in the corner.
I bought my Valje congas and bongos new in 1977 - quinto, conga, tumba, supertumba and matching bongos. I was going to sell them recently, but I backed down - just couldn't do it - they're too nice! I just put (tucked) new LP heads on all of them.
PM me if you have any Gretsch stories to relate.
Kona, all I can say is that me and my Catalinas are not worthy. Those Renowns are awesome!
As to a supplier that has "all" the Gibralter parts and delivers to Canada, I am assuming that you would know about Musician's Friend, and they are the one's that I tend to go to when I am looking for something. They seem to have the widest variety of stuff. I also know that they ship to Canada, but maybe not everything. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks - I've been playing the congas off and on (just in the house) since I bought them new in 1977. I'm really glad I bought the complete set because there isn't many of them around. I had email contact with Ralph Flores and he said his dad, Tom Flores, (the person that built my Valje congas) didn't build many of the Supertumbas which is part of my set.
The cymbals are quite unique in that they are totally hand made - no machine hammering - all hand-hammered. They seem to be well made and sound great.
Here is a link to a site that you can read up a little on them:

Hey man, the Catalina is a fine set, may not be African Mahogany, but it has a unique character.

Don't get me wrong, 32HB. I love 'em, and they're certainly a huge step up from my first kit! I also acknowledge that Renowns are a step up from the Catalinas. It was not my intent to talk badly about our drums! Maybe you're right. I guess I need to go in the other room and apologize to my kit!
*I'm sorry baby!!!!*

The one on the left, the 16" Turk Islanbul crash/ride has an interesting story about how it came to be.
The cymbal supplier put in an order and there was a letter on the cymbal code that was misinterpreted by the makers. They made the cymbals and sent them out to the supplier, Noel at Heartbeat Percussion. Noel saw the cymbals were no where near what he had ordered. Istanbul said send them back - sorry. Noel, realizing he had rare cymbals that were made to order by mistake, said he wanted to keep them.
He showed me one (maybe the last one) when I was buying my cymbals this last Saturday. I tried it out with the others we had matched up so far and I liked it! So, I got a rare, kind of cool looking and nice sounding cymbal.
