    Pastor Bob,

I do think you would like the ball mount that various companies make. When things are almost right, having the ability to quickly make a slight adjustment is valuable. With the flat toms, be prepared to catch more rim than you're used to. Soon, your stroke will change and getting nuttin' but mylar will be second nature. Muscle memory, my friend...

I would agree, Very easy to adjust and alot of possible positions quick.

Kaosotis? how do you like your kick port? would you recommend buying one?

    Hi all,

I am the new guy so I figured I would start by posting some pics of my newest kit. I just got them in December and have been enjoying them immensely. They are Pearl Master Custom MCX with a limited edition Artisan II finish. The finish is Mapa Burl Honey Burst. It is a lacquer finish with gold micro flake in it. Stunning in person. Thanks!

    Hi All,

long time reader, first time poster!

Not the best pictures of my kit, but the best I can do for a starter.....

It's a Pearl Export fusion it in a shiney dark blue! I think it's getting on for about 15 years old or so now, but been very loved and taken care of!

I've got mostly Zildjan ZXT's and one custom K, but looking to invest in the Zildjan Armand box set this month. Anyone have opinions on these? incedentally, can anyone tell my how it's fair that cymbals cost TWICE as much in the UK than in the US??! And no resellers are permitted to ship to the UK either. :(

Tips and advice more than welcome!

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Thanks for the welcome Tom! Been meaning to for a long time, will do my best to be "active" and contribute from now on!

Used high quality cymbals you say.... but doesnt that limit the choice somewhat? And I'm not sure i'd be comfortable distance-buying something that is designed to be hit hard and lots! They can be soooo expensive, I'd hate to get a lovely sounding cymbal that is 2 crashes away from cracking!

Welcome to Drum Chat Ben! I agree that buying used without being able to see the cymbal would be risky, although some have done it successfully. The key is to buy the best cymbals you can afford, and keep playing.

    Again, welcome!
