I go to my local drum shop and purchase my sticks. I like to touch them before I buy them ;-)

This is a somewhat older picture of my kit. It's set up in pretty much the same way now only my 14" floor tom is on my left and I don't have that crappy solar stack anymore (that was only there for the fun of it anyway)

My china has a big crack in it though and it's quite disappointing as I haven't even had it for a year yet. I need to make my mind up on a replacement.

Shes my baby! Gonna add a second floor tom then sell the small rack tom and move the mid tom up top on the rack. Then add a China on far right and cowbell. Gotta get the last piece of my rack put on first though.
Heck yeah love those DW's! Great configuration, really great for the ride access. Is it a lacquer? Sure is shiny!

It's entirely possible! It's weird because a little while after I bought this kit one of my friends bought the Mapex Meridian you were selling. Small world 'eh?

The cymbals from left to right are:
    Zildjian 18" Pitch black crash
    Zildjian 15" Pitch black hats
    Sabian 16" APX crash
    Sabian 10" AA splash
    Paiste 18" 2002 crash
    Meinl 21" MB20 Heavy ride
Sabian 19" AAX xtreme china that I need to replace badly.
The one under the solar hat is a 16" wuhan china that also has a crack
I can't wait to replace the pitch blacks with some good Sabian or Meinl cymbals. But the china is a bigger priority for now.

I love these short low profile setups! Minor tweaks here and there now that its on a rack but still basically the same but a tiny bit closer together and tiny bit lower now.
The official DW description is: Cherry red w/ a translucent matte lacquer finish. Love the finish so much! Love at first sight lol

My "live" setup has changed a bit.

I'm now using the 12" and 14" tom versus the 10" and 14" that I used to use.
I'm also playing with only one crash now. This is due to trying to sell my 20" sand ride to pay for a $1700 amp... I still think I prefer the 2-crash setup, so I'll probably return to that down the road when i can afford a second crash again.
I also tune my snare completely differently. I used to tune my snare up medium-high to sound like pretty much every DW snare demo ever on you tube, but now I tune the lugs almost all the way loose with a moongel. It doesn't sound fantastic sitting above it, but it sounds GINORMOUS under a mic and sounds better than any snare I've ever played before. It's funny how it works like that.
    Kits:
    -C&C Player Date 13/16/22
    -65' Ludwig Super Classic 13/16/22

    Snares:
-DW Nickel Over Brass 6.5x14 snare
-Ludwig Black Galaxy Acrolite 5x14 snare
-Ludwig 65' Super Classic 5x14 snare
    -Ludwig 64' Pioneer 5x14 snare
-PDP Classic Wood hoop 6x14 snare

    Rides:
    -Zildjian 22" Constantinople
    -Zildjian 22" Kerope
    -Zildjian 20" Constantinople
    Hats:
-17" A Medium crash over K custom dark crash

    -DW 9000 pedals

I'll keep that in mind if I ever want to switch it out, but that probably won't happen for a while, it's a great sounding crash and it works perfectly for everything I play.

This was my first Paiste cymbal, I really like it but Paiste is too expensive for me to keep buying, same with Meinl. So I think i'm gonna stick with mostly Sabians for now. At least until I can afford more Meinlt or Paiste. I'm not a fan of zildjians at all.

Btw...the $1700 amp is for the kit? (next time mic-ed in?)

Haha nope! I play guitar just as much (if not more) than drums actually. It makes doing studio work pretty cool because it can cut down on cost for artists to hire only one studio musician (I play guitar, drums, bass, and piano all pretty frequently) rather than many, thus more work for me . The only downfall is not being able to do rhythm sections all at one time... not enough limbs

Thanks Russ! I still feel like it's too long (compared to when I'm playing guitar... haha) but compared to ye who have much bigger setups, it isn't too bad!
