I've also got a pdp cx and I love it. Great lookin kit.
As far as I know it's mid 80's.
I really like the split coliseum snare, I got this kit on CL about a year ago. It came with 3 rolling road case's to carry it in.
BTW- The bass drum's are 26in.
I figured mid to late 80's because of the power sizes. I had a drummer friend that played a kit just like yours finished in natural back then. I played a Ludwig Quadra-Plus Outfit finished in WMP that I purchased in 78' until I got my 88' Super Classics ...
If you wanted to date them, the manufacture date should be stamped in ink on the inside of one or more of the shells, probably one of the kick drums. You might also be able to date them based upon the serial numbers on the badges.
In any case, they sure do look like they were well cared for ...

Picked that guy up for $300 used...best purchase I've made in a long time! The CX is a great buy
Yea it's fun to play!
I paid the same thing thing for my PDP.
These are my sons drums. I took them out a couple of times with a band in the 90's. They sounded a lot warmer than I was expecting. I got quite a few comments on them also. He painted cartoon characters on the resos. I think Pinky and the Brain is on the Fl.tom. The Pink Panther blowing a smoke ring was on one also. Might have been the snare. He just recently got them out and set them up again. They've been put away for a while and he's been using another kit. I thought you might like to see them.
cool

Very cool kit!!!!
Those are slick!

Hong Kong Fooey it is. My son use to do a lot art work. He's not a bad drummer either. I've always been proud that one of my four children plays. Unlike me though, he plays guitar also.
Nic variety you got there
Sabian!!!
Wow Late 8! You've got some serious drum kits. I've got 2, but not enough room for both at the same time. Very cool.
Yes we do. I admit it...I'm nuts about drumming.
12 small steps...one at a time...
Thanks Holy...can't wait to see your DWs....
Thanks Mike. The garage can hold three vehicles but the third stall (white outline) holds my kits and I stow all the extra hardware in the corners.
The bought the Premiers used and it came with all original hardware and snare for $225 USD. I bought them for my 10 year old son for his 9th birthday but he hasn't shown any interest in playing yet so I have them set up at a practice studio. The cover band is on a winter break so I brought them home to clean them up...
Thanks Lefty. I just have enough room to squeeze in three kits plus two vehicles if I want the kits set up permanently. The pic below is how I have them set up now
Once a year, I pull everything out to sweep up the dead bugs, wash down the dirt and dust that collects in the corners and re-organize the gear.
