Nice looking drums there PB !

I'm guessing the congas are a Quinto (smaller one) and Conga?
They will sound very nice all tuned up. I hope the praise band comes together for you - it's a great idea. Keep us posted.

    Thanks!
it was $260 and it's Remo and my friend did it for me

the thing about the wrinkle... the rim on my drum has "warped" apparently coz its plastic & my room is humid.... and it won't fit around the drum head.. and the clamps aren't sitting right on it :( my friend and I tried for hours to get it right and that was the end result.. the wrinkle part is where the clamps won't tighten anymore i need to order in a Ludwig one....

This is a snare I built a few years back. I posted it under hardware earlier but should have put it here. its 14 x5 keller 10 ply maple shell. slingerland style in-facing flange style rims. 18 stran snare (i think..) Killed it with the wrong batter head. Not a good choice.

DG, congrats on the new bass head! Now no one will ever wonder why you chose the drum configuration you have! They'll just know that you think Ringo rocks!

And Pditty, I don't care where you post pics of that snare, it still looks sweet!

DG, I'm not sure what you mean by "the rim on my is 'warped'." Since the hoop is what I assume you referred to as plastic, I sure hope you weren't referring to the bearing edge on the drum.

DG sounds like to me when you refer to the fact that you can't tighten the bass drum hoop anymore where the wrinkle is, sounds like the insert on the lug may be stripped and the tunning rod is just turning in the insert. I hope that what Paster Bob is referring to is not the case because if the shell and bearing edge were damaged enough to cause that much resonant head wrinkle, I am afraid the bass drum would be totaled. It would have to be a pretty serious dip in the bearing edge to cause that much wrinkle.

That's a cool head! I have a custom bass drum head as well. I think there's a photo posted on What Band Do You Play For? I find it curious that you don't know the sizes of your other drums.

oh yeah! maybe it is the Hoop... i thought it was called "the rim" oops ! .. well the hoop is plastic and it won't go over the drumhead properly... i think it has moved bcoz of the heat.

My friend made it by hand, sprayed it Orange and wrote the words on it.. I'm so happy with it

PB......I am only now seeing these for the first time, and brother, you got some sweet-lookin' (and sweet-soundin') drums there! The Aspire series is what was previously known as the CP (Cosmic Percussion) series, and as you know, I've played both fiberglass and wood CPs for years!

You indeed have a quinto and a conga (the tumba usually has an 11 3/4" inch head), and they're gonna look at home alongside your Gretsches!

In fact, the way you have them set up in the picture is how you will play them when you're standing behind them (the quinto to your left, that is). For convenience, get a heavy-duty stand for those bongos and put them in front of the congas; again, the small drum is to your left as you look at them. (You might want to tilt the bongos toward you about 45 degrees, kinda like the toms on your drum set, to make it easier to switch off from congas to bongos or vice versa; that's how I do it and it works very well!)

    Again, congrats, my bongo brother!
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

Thanks BB. I checked on the stand for the bongos, and a decent one would run somewhere near $100, so I'm putting that one off until at least next month. In the meantime, I'll work on some rhythms for the congas. I feel like such a newbie again!
