Thanks Russ. they are the LX series, maple / lacquer finish. They didn't look like this when I bought them. I've put in a lot of hours getting them looking good again. The rest will be money items, cymbals, stands (or rack) haven't made that decision yet.

That's an awesome collection of snares you got there my man! I too wonder which is your favorite. Is that a steel Ayotte 14x5.5 3rd from right in the second pic?

That's just a few of them that I had in storage a while back.

(And yes, that is an Ayotte stainless steel snare.)

    Favorites?

My 1958 Radio King lives up to the legendary status.

I have a 1990s Noble & Cooley S. S. that is pretty wonderful as well.

My 1960 COB Dynasonic has been getting a good bit of time in the stand lately too.

Drummer5359.....love that Gretsch in the foreground shot. You've now given me an idea. Next snare of mine is most likely to be a Gretsch, lol.

I thought that I'd post another couple of Pics.

This is my 1973 Slingerlands in sparkling blue pearl finish. 13", 16", 18" and 24" bass. The snare in the photo is my 1958 Radio King in the matching finish.

Here is a photo of my 1975 Slingerlands in Blackrome finish, 12",13",16",18" and a 22" virgin kick. I've since picked up a 14" mounted tom and a Buddy Rich model snare drum in the matching finish.

    Drummer5359 that's some beautiful stuff.

I have a question about the vintage stuff. I have some new Renowns and my 1986 Tamas I got at the end of HS. How does the vintage Slingerland stuff compare in sound to newer stuff like the Renowns? I haven't had a 70's kit since the 70's LOL.

Very very nice Slingerlands. I've become particularly interested with that brand of drums lately. Anything that plays like your dad's Slingy's interests me a lot. I'd be smiling too!

The Renowns are very nice drums and I know a couple of people who play tons of gigs with them. They definitely have a vintage sounding vibe to the, particularly with certain heads on them. I don't own a set myself, but I'd like to.

I love my vintage drums, but you do have to be a little more careful with them if you play out a lot. There isn't a replacement sitting on a shelf somewhere if you damage a drum.

im glad you posted that pic of the high tom mounted as a floor on the Yamaha. I've been thinking about mounting my second high tom as a floor, but not quite sure how that'd look

That's a very cool setup! I'm thinking I might try that with my Renowns when I set them back up.
