Digital, what's your take on the kick drums? I was blown away the first time I heard mine.
Thanks for the compliments The 8" can't be mounted right now. I have some clamps and L-rods missing from the order. I ordered bigger/more adjustable tom mounts so I can lower the rack position. They'll be here in a few weeks.
I'm also missing 4 deccabons, misc hardware for my legless snare basket and hi-hat stand and the 6" Remo head for the rototoms. Funny thing, I opened the 6" Remo head box just to find it empty. I'll pick one up this week and get rid of the really crappy blue Supra stock head.
The bass drums are 22"x18".

A couple pics from the setup at the studio on Saturday. This is the OC kit, set up as a 4pc. I used the HHX hats, 22" Ride, both 19" Vault crashes, 18" AAXplosion crash, and a 19" AAXtreme china (just got that one the day before & hadn't even heard it before Saturday...very, very happy with it!)
The song was a southern-rock type, with big vocals. I was shooting for a mushy, almost dead snare sound. I used the 14" maple snare that came with the OC kit with a heavy Falams II head & got it pretty easily!

Boy, digital, you sure corralled a savage beast of a kit there. WOW!
Very nice Slingerlands, gregc.
That looks like a monster bass drum, tadly.
Can't hold a candle to Digital's kit, but here's a shot of my Superstars with my new 14" FT. Just put an EC2 and G1 combo on it, and realized that I had stock resos on the rest of the kit so got some G1's for those as well. Much improved sound and tuning.
First time I've ever had a 2 up 2 down config.

that's a very nice kit kaosotis. i'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on some silverstars (6pc.) 2 up 2 down. also that is my dream ride cymbal you have there. i'm a huge stewart copeland fan.
That finish is just a total stunner. Congrats kaos!

Looks good Vibes. The flags n the colourful back ground look pretty epic.
I'm curious about the lugs on the kick drum and the mid-high tom. Are they supposed to be different to each other or did you do some retrofitting?
The 14"x22" bass and 8"x12" tom are Chanute Camco shells That I got 34 years ago and had put Ludwig lugs on the Batter sides. Then a couple years ago I bought aftermarket Lugs that fit the existing holes, and hoops for them. They sounded so good I started useing them with some other vintage Ludwigs I had. I actually was looking for a Camco silver sparkle floor tom and found a vintage 16"x16" Silver sparkle Gretch floor tom I use with them at times. In the pic I am useing a 1980 14" and 1974 16" Concert tom with suspension mounts on a Tama low double floor tom stand. I also have a 1974 15" concert tom with suspension mount too. Plus that 10" Ludwig concert tom in the pic and a 6"&8" concert tom (not pictured). I had a Ludwig silver sparkle 1971 Hollywood kit that I added 6.8.10.14. 15. 16. inch concert toms to, and the basic set with 10 and 14 tom which were destroyed in a club fire. I replaced the set and lost concert toms in 1980 and still had the 1974 6.8.15.and 16. So with those the 22 Bass drum and "12 tom plus the 16" Gretsch. so I can mix and match all kind of set ups.

Looks like a very cool place to play, Vibes. Liking that kit with black heads.
Thanks Bish, Captain Hirams is a very popular and well known place on the beach in "Sebastion" middle east coast florida. Really fun gig. I play there 3 or 4 times a month now. Any Florida members near by or down this way on vacation this summer should come out. Message me and I can tell you when we are there.
I have 14 Silver Sparkle drums and they are all fitted with Remo Ebony ambassador heads, except the Camco Bass drum has a ebony Aquarion and my Ludwig has a weathermaster Ludwig Logo ebony. . I like the silver and black combination too. I use white coated Ambassadors on my vintage kits. Both sides.

I havn't played a 2up,2 down in a long time because I don't feel comfortable with my ride in a higher position, and after getting the idea of the offset tom on some of the kits here in D.C.,I thought i'd give it a go. Kinda like it right now, so I'm going to give it a shot this weekend.
