Beautiful kit Claire, and from one Gretsch player to another, that's an exceptional choice of manufacturer!

Just out of curiosity what do you prefer about the Axis pedals? I've never even heard of them.

Just out of curiousity, PB, do you get much playing time being setup right in front of your tv? Is that your living room or what?

Never Andy! Any kit that gets us using our talents is a sweet kit. Sort of like my first car. It wasn't the best, but I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for that car!

Thanks for all the nice comments about the kit. Yes, I have become a cymbaloholic GF! The finish on the kit is what Gretsch calls a "Deep Amber." I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. You can't tell how well the woodgrain shows through (I'm a sucker for good woodgraining), and then the "amber" color really shines under the lights.

32HB, that TV is being stored there for my mom. I turned the living room into a music room. I live alone so I can get away with that, although I sometimes give myself a stern look!

Really? I would venture to say they might be the most popular pedals for metal players in the US. Pricey, though.

And as a contrary note, I have definitely seen some ugly kits that I don't wanna play on lol, not many but there are few.

Rat, you are right! I don't know what I was thinking. I have already apologized to my baby!

I also agree that all drums have their own style and personality. I absolutely love my kit, and at the same time I can acknowledge that there are other beautiful kits out there without feeling any less sure that mine is beautiful too.
