    Question Test Time for BongoBro

Ok, I have kinda noticed recently, and I don't know if anyone else has, that BongoBro knows more than a bit about Hand Percussion instruments, so my question to you, the writers in DrumChat,

Is anyone here able to ask a hand percussion related question that BongoBro CAN'T answer.

I do realise that BongoBro not knowing something about Hand Percussion is one of the signs of the Apocolypse, just after the Plague of Locusts and right before the 4 horsemen come-a-riding to earth. But i am interested to see the results!

Don't get me wrong, i think BongoBro is a legend, and he is a decent guy, and he would never proclaim to know everything, i just think that this is the best way for me to find out about diffferent hand percussion terms and instruments.

Being from Ireland, i will go for Irish hand percussion, namely, the Bodhran.

Can you, Bongobro, tell me the name of the stick used to hit the bodhran with. I'll give you a hint, it begins with 'C' and it is an Irish word...

Drum_Chick, i was hoping that BongoBro wouldn't think of that actually, but hey! It is the best solution.

1DB, also being the master of hand percussion you are, firstly, apologies for not incl. in the thread title, secondly, you are also subject to all questions presented.

Do YOU know what your Djembe is tuned to? and what is the answer of the other question? huh? HUH???!!!

Cool Test time for bongobro (!) (?)

Now I know where everyone went when I entered the Shoutbox!

I only just now saw this...and 1DB beat me (I have to say it) like bongos--truth is I would have googled the answer!!! Now...does this mean I have to tape a video similar to that game show...

"I am bongobro from Granite City, Illinois and I am NOT SMARTER THAN 1DRUMBUM!" ?

    P. S.: "bongobro" is always lowercase...like e. e. cummings...now go google that one, dude!

keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

It'd be the variety of xylophones, such as the balafon and gyil (gy-lee) in various places such as West Africa, is that what you're thinking? In places such as Zimbabwe and South Africa, besides the various types of balafon type of instruments, there is the mbira (a plucked percussion instrument) more commonly known in the West either as a 'thumb piano', kalimba, sanza or other tribal names.
