Tama is a Japanese brand. Ludwig and DW are both made in the US, Gretsch as well.

Tama isn't an American company though. It's good to support the economy though, I just don't think i'd buy crud if America made crud. I want a better drumset so i'd buy it elsewhere. If they wanted my money the product would have to be worth it. All hypothetically, of course.

At no point did you or I mention Tama when talking about buying American. Of course I know Tama isn't American.
I'm just saying, when I can, I buy American or better yet, locally made products. That doesn't mean I never buy anything not American made or I buy inferior products b/c they are made in the USA. But all things equal I'll buy American made over something made over seas.
It'd save you some money on shipping at least.
