Z Customs. I don't own any but I have tried out the Rudes and the Z customs, and I liked the Z customs a lot better.
Okay i've been looking for good crashes, rides, hats, and splashes for metal-type music people so that the cymbals can cut through. I've narrowed it down to these three: Paiste Rude, Zildjian Z custom, and the Meinl Soundcaster series. I really like the tones of the soundcaster but i also love the explosive attack and volume of the rudes and the z customs. anyone own some of these cymbals? i need info on these cymbals if anyone does own some. lend some advice please?
Ostinato is the way to go!
they Z customs are ace!
yeah they are but for me i like the explosive punch that only the rudes give.

The Z Customs have more of a musical tone than the Rudes. The Rudes are just loud, cool looking, expensive, and could probably be compared to the PST series. Z Customs provide volume, cool looks, and are top of the line. So I'd go for the Z Customs because they'll give that metal sound you want and they'll be heard well through the music.

well the z customs are like you said musical.
but the alpha series also is close to the z customs.

The Alpha series does sound really nice if you choose all the right ones. I think the Alpha Rock series sound the best out of them, and yea they're a terrific product for their price.

Ive got an Alpha 18inch crash mixed with a 16inch 502 and they blend in really nicely together. my personal taste is the Paiste cymbals
