oops here it is:
i;m not sure i understand the question, but generally to mount more cymabls you would either be using more stands, or buying arms which clamp onto your prexisting stands, like this one.

this is another cool little one I saw on there:

As long as your stand has room to clamp something onto it - then that's all you'll do. Don't clamp too much stuff onto one stand though - or else it can come "crashing" down - hahahah, man i'm funny - anyway, yeah, probably only one or two clamps per stand, then just buy a new boom stand or something, or get a rack and a whole heap of boom clamps.

man you gotta by a new clamp for it..and a addon boon stand..
most clamps let you know the range of they're adjustments so you dont buy the wrong sizes

Lafirin, I can answer that question to Chicko for you. The first link that CMWP made to the Musician's Friend site is the add-on boom stand. it's really an add-on boom arm. The boom arm just gives more adjustability than a straight cymbal stand.

Boom STAND = http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...and?sku=443540
Basically it is a boom when it has an extendable/positional arm.

True, CMWP, but checking the original post, Lafirin asked about "stands" that attach to other stands. That's why I called it an "add-on boom stand." Technically you are correct. I was just staying with the concept that was already on the table.
Regardless, whether it is a stand alone "stand," or an add-on "stand," the boom is indeed the "extendable/positional arm."

yep, add on boom stand, so I dont have a to buy a whole knew stand for just one splash or w/e. also another question.. can you clamp things on your bass drum?
Yes. For instance, there are cowbell mounts for the bass drum hoop. Of course, if you have a wooden hoop, you would want to be careful what you mount so that you don't damage the finish.
What did you have in mind to mount?

well.. I was thinking mabye a splash cymbal, not right now, i mean for the future. and by drum hoop i asume you mean the the hoop in front of the bass drum?
The hoop is the part of the drum that holds the head down - which on most kick drums is made of wood, just like the rest of the drum itself - chrome hoops (or some other metallic substance) is then found on the toms and snare.
As PB pointed out - anything that clamps onto the hoop of the kick will usually mark it in some way - for example the kick pedal will pretty much always leave some sort of indent and marking - but because the kick pedal is always there - it's not something anyone really worries about. However, at the top of the drum, where it is clearly visible - this is something less desirable. You can find clamps that will clamp onto your tom arms - usually the better way to go if you want something that sits directly in front of you like a cowbell. For a splash - just get one of the boom clamps and attach it to your cymbal stand - safest way to go and won't potentialy damage anything that way.

wow, i had no idea they had so many clamps for different areas of your drum set, thats very cool. well... my hoop aint made out of wood, i think its plastic.. lol or mabye it is wood, and the finish is plastic, or mabye the finish isnt plastic... ahh i dont know:S
Probably some sort of plywood with a wrap - depends on the kit - some of them are rubber - although I think that's something you usually find on top end kits, or atleast they have a rubber edging to help protect them. ANyway, head over to the Tama website to see all the differnet clamps and stands that they make - it will give you an idea of your options - Tama stuff is some of the best out there, with a massive range to choose from. At least it's somehere to start, then maybe find a cheaper version from a different manufacturer, but at least you will know which possibility might work best for you.

can u sent a pic?
I wouldn't mount anything other than a cowbell to the bass hoop, and it would be on the side of the bass closest to you when you are seated at the set. Anything else I would mount onto the existing cymbal stands. As CMWP has pointed out, scratches on the bass hoop is bound to happen, even if you have a wrap on the drums, and you would want that in a place that faces an audience. Besides, you would want any cymbal to be mounted higher so that it is easier to reach.
