    Band 1: Stadium/Glam/Hair rock
    Band 2: Classic Rock
    Band 3: R&B/Disco
Band 4: Originals/Funk/Blues/Reggae and a smattering of Hendrix

Also recorded an album with a Bluegrass band, but I played washboard.

And have a side project with a female singer who does pop/dance stuff.

    Drums are fun!

Sounds like the band I used to play in albeit the chicken wire barrier. Played a bit of country, rock and blues. We usually always wound up in the hole money-wise.

mostly extreme metal (death, black), thrash, punk, etc

with some prog, jazz, fusion, thrown in for good measure.

I'm a music nerd so I like to have as many styles as possible.

I started out learning/playing rock, pop & soul.As I got more proficient,it was rock & some blues. When I went on the road,it was commercial Top40.I was doing the corporate hotel chain, dance band/show band thing. It,by far was not what I liked, but,I wanted to stay working. My travel days ended in'84.So,now I'm a classic rock, cover drummer.I want to play the music that inspired me when I was growing up in the 60's & 70's.I'd rather play covers than somebody's originals.Mostly because I haven't heard any originals that are any good. Most importantly, these songwriters don't provide any charts or demos to listen to.They just think you can blindly follow along like you've got ESP or somethin'.

Spend a little more time on the jazz and you may begin to realize what a zero that other music is.

I'm a metal head at heart. But lately I've been jamming with this chick singer and she's all into rockabilly and country. So I'm back on guitar doing Brad Paisley type of stuff "Hot country" I think they call it..Not the new plastic country though can't stand that crap.. But the rhythms have a lot of hybrid picking to them and they can be challenging and move at break neck pace sometimes. songs like Rosanne cash my baby thinks he's a train type stuff.

I don't think drummers like to play country from what I can tell..I guess most think it's boring. But I think there's more to the style then meets the eye. It could be a lack of imagination as well.

Very little. Black metal tends to have shrieking vocals, while death metal has cookie monster vocals. Both are offshoots of thrash.
    Mmm... Saturns.

pretty much...also black metal (and there's a few different types, same as death metal) and also utilize symphonic elements...keyboards and even some cleaner vocals etc.

Grew up playing Zeppelin covers.. I listen to Christian rock/pop. Also into progressive rock= Spock's Beard, Big Big Train, etc.
I play rock, pop, funk stylings. Back in the mid late 80's I played in an all Rush cover band, and a 90s style original grunge band.

These days gospel based rock and pop. Looking at doing a smooth jazz/funk style project soon and will be in the studio helping a friend out on an original CD (Cajun, Rockabilly)

I play praise and worship, and that is all I want to play. I have played the following in the past: blues, classic rock, 80s new wave, jazz, and Latin. I know this is a zombie thread. Peace and goodwill.

As a Resurrected "Drummer" who after 50 Years returned to play in 2019 at 68 yo. My wife gifted me a cheapo Gammon Kit for 2018 XMAS bc I expressed an interest to play again during that year. I was approaching retirement (which I Finally Did in May 2021). I have since upgraded to a PDP Maple kit, I play at home (hoping to hook up with some local Geriatric Musicians to Jam with), about an hour a day to MY Music: primarily Classic Rock , Rock / Blues & Country Rock: CCR, Petty, Mellencamp, Stones, Beatles, Springsteen, Cars, Eagles, Talking Heads, Hollies, Kinks, Clapton, Winwood, Motown, Doobies, Roy O, and more including Linda Ronstadt & Bonnie Rait, Carly Simon......Unfortunately, I suffer with lots of Chronic Pains and Stiffness from Spianl Arthritis as well as OA in my Knees and Hips and some fingers too. One day is OK, another not so OK!!

PS: Since returning and leaning so much more than back then (1967-69) about the Drums, Tuning, different heads, etc.. - all via You Tube and Forums such as this one!

    Classic rock.....
I prefer "prog" but my bandmates hate the time it takes to work up a prog song.
Far too technical to put together quickly.
