    Default traditional grip technique

After playing almost exclusively with brushes lately I've found that I find traditional oddly more comfortable than match but when whenever I play for a really long time with sticks the joint where the stick rests between my thumb and index finger gets sore, which doesn't happen when using brushes. Any suggestions on what may be wrong with my technique?

id guess the weight of the stick is different than the brushes, and so is the balance . could be the problem.

I agree with atomcorr2 that the weight of the sticks have something to do with it and also the brushes have a rubber like finish for comfort and grip.

Also, just playing for a really long time could make it sore. Especially if you just started playing that way.
