Default Drum Room In Bank Barn Loft

Well a couple of months ago, I decided to start the project of putting a drum room in my 150+ year old bank barn. In order to start this I first needed to make the barn structurely sound, and weather proof. I had a Menonite company come in and put a new skin of barn boards on the barn, and fix a couple of cracked beams.

Borrowed their sky jack to cut back a 150 year old maple tree that was threatening to split, and fall on my garage! These things are too much fun!

I was at a studio a few years back, that was a converted barn...Escarpment Sound, near Acton i recall..Stompin Tom did some recordings there. Engineer has moved his studio near to Guelph now...your project will be awesome, I'm sure!

This is the loft area now. Needs a bit of work. I will be doing all the inside work. If I had one of their sky jacks I would do the outside as well!

This is something I have wanted to do since we moved here 8 years ago. It was sad watching the old girl slowly fade away. This brings much joy to my heart

Thanks Goya! I will have most of my kits in there. I will keep a couple in the basement for playing when I don't fell like trekking!

Thanks Longgun. Yes it is a little bit colder than Georgia. I would say the average temp. for the job was about 28 F. It did get up to about 45 F for a couple of days, just long enough to make nice ruts in my grass!
