Good news for all the Canadians and World fans. Rush has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Long overdue recognition for their contribution to the music world. Congrats you make us Canadians proud of you guys. Keep on making your music.

That's the thing, they(RUSH) have met all the criteria for the R&R HOF. There may be people that don't care for their music, but big deal. They made an impact in the music industry, they have been around for well over 25 years(as I recall, they actually started in 1968). All I can say is, good for them.

About time is the quite the understatement. My favorite of all time bands. Amazing musicians - all of them, not just Neil.

PB - I saw them for the first time this past November. One word... Unbelievable. You are going to really enjoy what the bring live.

I'm not a fan but I quite agree with the previous sentiments.
I can recognise a good band who have an effect on the music industry even if they're not to my taste, so yes, it's a recognition long overdue.

Just got on and saw this thread. Been a fan since I first heard 2112. No band I have ever seen puts the effort into their music like these guys. The fact that the three are basically the original lineup (God Bless you John Rutsey) is an achievement in itself. Fortunately they are still doing their thing. I get to see them again in a few weeks. Always hard earned money well spent on these guys.

Lifeson's speech was the best ever screw off "we really don't care about you or this award, but because we are class acts and the fact that our fans have stood behind us demanding this moment for over 20 years now". Jann Wenner should be rode out of town on a rail! He is the reason bands like Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, The Moody Blues, etc. aren't in the hall yet. But people like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and Madonna are already in. The hall is a joke. I don't need the hall in order to validate how great a band like Rush, or Heart, or Yes, or Pink Floyd is. The hall is, and always will be beneath my notice as long as those former RS idiots are there in any capacity.

Exactly. First to be fired is smug, know it all Mr. Pretty boy Jan Wenner. I really hate this guy. He has used his professional positions for his own satisfaction for far to long. He must be plugged in very well.

Exactly , It's about bloody time. It appears that finally someone has finally stuck a hose up the Hall of shame and gave them some clarity on Rock&Roll. Congrats to Rush. Now do you think bands like Deep Purple , Roxy Music, MC5! Stevie Ray Vaughn!, Yes! Brian Eno, The Moody Blues , and On and On. It is ridiculous who they put in and who they have continuously left out.

I agree Wolvie. Alex was hilarious. And ironically all the Ruch fans knew pretty much what he was saying. Dave G. dissing Rolling Stone was epic as well. May 5th cant get here soon enough.

I am so glad Alex made a mockery of their induction. The R&R hall of fame is ****. They have inducted **** bands throughout the years while ignoring the greatness of Rush, one of the greatest bands of all time. Way to go Alex, **** Hall of fame!
