NeATO N8, I hadn't seen any posts from you before, so first of all welcome to DrumChat! If I understand correctly, I believe you have proposed a specific forum for videos, instead of having vids scattered throughout all the forums, and a specific forum for selling/trading drum gear (not sure what the wtb was). Is that correct?

Of course, all this would have to be run by drummer, and sue admin, because the current rules do not allow posting of gear for sale. We can make comments about what we want, and we can IM each other, but a general post about gear and prices is verboten.

in theory a good idea for helping out drummers looking to buy/sell/exchange equipment , a few problems i see is the exchanging of money and the postage, as it's used by guys from all corners of the world. I know the postage in the U.K. is expensive.

postage etc.. would be no different to ebay really, but this way at least we kinda know each other and trust each other - this forum is more personal in that sense. Of course fi we had a section for buying/selling/swapping/WTB then it would possibly increase traffic and make this place less personal - wo who knows. Also, another advantage though would be that it could eb exclusievly drum related gear, unlike ebay whihc has all sorts of instruents etc...

It'd also be a very big undertaking I should imagine, especially to moderate it once it's setup to make sure all the posts are legit users etc...

A video posting abiltiy would eb good though as opposed to always linking to youtube. although it might then get blocked by my servers here at work, which wouldn't be good (it seems ot automatically block all websites that play videos, like youtube, googlevido,. myspace, metacafe etc...) Didn't used, they just did that recently - bastards

I think the site owners have to have a special license in order to let people trade on their site. It'd get to hectic in here and trading can be done on ebay anyway.
