Such an Inspiration, I've met Mr Weckl twice at clinics he did, one in '97 and one last year, with Thomas Lang and Dom Famularo, he was such a nice guy, they all were.
I had always heard that he was really aloof with fans and didn't want anyone approaching him, but that could not be more wrong. I went to a clinic in the mid-90s and there was a concert afterwards. My buddy and I got at the back of the autograph line. We started asking him a few questions when our turn came, which lead to a 5 minute discussion. Next thing I know, he says "hey, my crew is still tearing down, can I buy you guys a beer?" How insanely cool is that? We chatted for half an hour about whatever we wanted and he seemed genuinely interested in explaining anything we asked. I'll remember that evening for the rest of my life.

That clinic you went to last year.....was that over here in Australia? I went to that with some of my drum students and a couple of other drummer friends. I even met and got a photo with Dom Famularo right next to the mixing desk. What a cool trio of players.
