But those are stone composite, not concrete. You really can't brake it
Doesn't crack even if you bounce on the body sideways. It'll stretch.

Lugs are kumus own design too, like everything else.
Under lugs are little vent holes and sidehole is invented by by Kumu too.
Not much of invention but can use reso without hole with no unwanted rebound. And easy micing too.

Hi Seba. Pleased to meet you. Finnish are some of the best wood workers in the world. No surprise to me a great drum would come from there. Do you have much maple growing there?
No doubt some great Russian birch.

    all the best...

BD is 5mm with 1,8mm rings. Very open sound, and extremely responsive even in very soft hit. Love them to death.

Also thicker ones are available, also vintage sounding new model with not sanded inside with laquer.

Hey that is cool...stone composite? That's the ticket right there. If I'm gonna bust my back and my bank account why not go authentic?

Because plain stone will break too easily.

I have had G.A.S. pretty bad recently. I was thinking about getting another segment snare from my guy. This is a shell he built months ago. It's cherry, walnut, and figured birch. I think with a nice gloss finish, those wood grains would really pop. And add brass hardware with full length tube lugs. Mmmm

I'm ecstatic! I'm going a bit out on a limb with the huge sizes, but I have confidence that I'm going to love them. My Mapex is slightly smaller so those will always be available too.

Very nice man! Love seeing the grain on the inside too, that is a really beautiful shell. Natural wood, no veneers?

I know most of the regulars on here have seen this, but maybe you newer guys haven't. This is my Trixon Co.cktail drum kit.

So where's the bass drum? You ask....well, the secret's the pedal and how it moves up to hit the bottom of the 'floor tom'.....which is really the co.ck tail drum itself.

This is what it looked like not long after I originally bought it second hand....later I added the coated heads as well as the muffled Pinstripe head for the bottom (it's only 15" in diameter, but believe me, it cuts through reasonably well in group situations).

And check out the double-kick version of it!

Wouldn't the GMS kits fit into this boutique classification. Hope to hear and play them this week sometime. Their lugs look very different.
