That was awesome Phrogge. Thanks for posting Johnny Vidacovich. That style of playing is bliss behind the kit.
I love those nawlin's 2nd line grooves. I believe he worked with Stanton Moore when Stanton was younger.
Check out Keith Carlock as he comes out of this intro solo, this is a great song with that 2nd line groove. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_bFB5pOpbs
Thanks for Sharing Phrogge!

Phrogge, we have a format for this Famous Drummers thread. I changed it for you to match that format. Also, the rules prohibit linking to other forums so I removed the Drummerworld link. Sorry for that but hope you understand. I included a cool video of him in a clinic talking about clave and groove, etc.
Phroggie mate, been a fan of Johnny for quite a while. Thanks for posting.

I get to see Johnny live and in person in June. He is playing with the "Voice of The Wetlands" at a blues festival I go to every year. Along with Tab Benoit, and Cyril Neville, and a few more of the good guys outta New Orleans(I hope Dr. John will make an appearance with them). Can't wait.
