Best i've currently used are Pearl Eliminator H-2000's. There's a lot of other good models out there, from Gibraltar/Yamaha/Tama/DW.

I just bought a Yamaha 7 series single braced stand. I think its fantastic. It's light, has adjustable spring tension, and came up to 100 bux plus tax. Plus its Yamaha, and I have always had a thing for Yamaha. Oh and one final thing, there were three sets of instructions. Not really necessary, but nice to see the inclusion of stuff.

I've played a Pearl 900 Series hi hat stand which is very durable and heavy duty. I just got a Tama road pro that I haven't yet tried out. Heard good things.
I think right now the Ludwig Atlas series is kicking some major *** in the hardware department but I haven't tried it myself.
The one that feels best to you is the best. Go try
a bunch out
Gibraltar - expensive one
I concur wif nr,,,,if it feels good, responsive,& durable enuff
for the very long haul,,,buy it,,,,
i have an old tama if had for 29 yrs,,,,
i prefer these daze my dw remote as my primary
cos i can put it anywhere i want it,,,,and the "11 o'clock position"
is my "sweet spot" cos if i wanna rock,i leave it loose & turn my hand position so my left hand is on snare behind snare on left side,,,
saves my body & my hands,,,,my closed hihat on rt hand side means
i dont haveta cross hands....or twist body postion...
My back thanks me for it !!!!!

Cheers for the help fellow drummers :-)
I have a Pearl H-2000, and I'm yet to discover why, but the whole stand rocks back and forth when I keep time with my foot on it. I hope I can discover why, but I'm a bit disappointed with that. Other than that, excellent stand.
Sonor - Pearl - Tama - Mapex - Paiste - Sabian - Roc N Soc - Pro Mark - Gibralter - Evans - Dixon - Mapex
I've tried them all and currently have 2 TAMA Road Pros and one Pearl.
If I needed more, I'd purchase another TAMA without hesitation.
I was going to buy this stand until I found a video of a guy saying the same thing about it. Just wondering is it on a plush sort of rug or anything? The video I saw he had the stand on a plush rug which was his drum rug and it would rock around like crazy, then he put it on his hardwood floor and it was sturdy as anything.
Don't you hate it when a sentence doesn't end the way you octopus?
Its all in how you adjust the legs.
I have used the Iron Cobra for 16 years. Love it. The Speed Cobra is really nice also. Both are very well built (Tama hardware is second to none anyway), sturdy, smooth and nicely adjustable.
I just saw a Gibraltar HH stand in the drum shop today that feels good and looks good but after playing it the stability just wasn't there. Here is the info. for the Gibraltar:
"9607DL-LD
Liquid Drive Dual Leg Hi-Hat Stand
Dual leg base allows for better placement in multi pedal set-ups. Base rotates 360 degrees. Liquid drive for balanced fast response. Patented mini 3rd leg swivels to either side for added stability.
• Liquid Drive provides a completely balanced action giving an equal tension feel for the down stroke and upstroke
• Step tension adjustment allows the player to "dial in" correct tension"
Looks good on paper, but when I played it I was not sold at all.
I'll stick to Tama. Trusted time and time again. Never an issue... ever.
