Zildjians all the way for me!

But having said that, I'd happily own either brand.....or Meinl....or Paiste.....or a few other brands for that matter

They used to be the same company until one of them split to make cymbals in Canada. The thing that Sabian is known for vs Zildjian is the hand hammering, which I believe they hold legal rights to. Hard to go wrong with Zildjian, it is a very old and long lasting company that started up in 1623(as an industry, but had some cymbals in 1618 already made) so it knows good sounds inside and out and makes them regularly. As with all companies, you're paying for the quality and reputation behind that name.

All the companies that try to make good cymbals do make good cymbals. I prefer Sabian because they have all the sounds I need. Peace and goodwill.
