I would pick Steve Gadd. He has been a huge influence on me.
... who would it be and why would you pick them?

Bonham. He is the reason I started this journey. Yes, I know there are many people that think he was a sloppy player, but back then, he was doing things other drummers weren't doing. He was a pioneer in some ways.
Dave Grohl
If I hadn't already met Mike Johnston, I would choose him because he is an insane drummer, teacher and down to earth good person.
Given that, my choice would have to be Benny Greb. I love his style, sound and his humor. That drum solo from his DVD is ridiculous (in an awesome way)! Often I will listen to that on my morning bike ride instead of other music.
Gretsch Renown RN1 ~ Silver Oyster Pearl
Tough choice, but I would have to go with Gene Krupa since he was good friends with my grandfather back in NY. He is one of the reasons I started drumming.

The line between the real world and the machine world is becoming more and more blurred every day.But its not that humans are turning into automations or becoming slaves to the machines. No, we're simply growing toward each other!
I've met both Buddy Rich and Louie Bellson.....If I could meet Gene Krupa - it would be the trifecta for me.

Wow, this is a tough one. I would have to say... oh gosh... Steve Smith. He just seems to have the qualities both personally and professionally that I like. He has been an influence on my drumming for a while.

Met him (and several others) decades ago, and I totally agree with Rich about Ms Caplette.
Very tough indeed, but like my buddy here, it would have to be Benny Greb for the same reasons.
Fortunately he's doing a Canadian tour soon and I'll have the privilege of learning from him in the clinic and hearing him play. I'm not one to get autographs, but his I will most definitely get.

He sees it all and hears it all.
It would be fantastic to have a few lessons from that guy.

Gretsch USA & Zildjian(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)
Vincent Paul Abbott.
It would have to be The Professor Neil Peart, just because Rush is the band that I grew up with mostly and have always marveled at his intelligent and skillful drumming.

Neil Peart. Aside from his mad drum skills, just seems like a genuinely fascinating guy.
If I had to choose someone who is alive, I'd choose Questlove. Seems like such a cool dude.

I'm going with Ringo because, well,.... because of The Beatles.
I would choose Dave Grohl. He seems super cool and he is a good musician!
Any drummer dead or alive it's the Master Buddy Rich. Alive? Steve Smith.....
