Re: 90's Premier kick spurs
I just finished restoring my old XPK set and went through the same issue. I had 1 spur that was off of an older Pearl (Export, I believe). The bolt pattern is 3-hole, and the old Pearl spur looks almost identical to the original Premier. It looks so close that i didnt notice it until I removed it. I like the Pearl rod design better as well. That stud with the plastic nut that your looking for has a habit of getting screwed in too tight and jamming. The pointed tip then sticks out of the rubber tip and its a real bear to get loose. The old Pearl design is much better and easier to find on Ebay. The bolt pattern is almost exact, but you would have to elongate 2 of the 3 holes in the shell....but that's better than drilling 4 new holes to mount another spur. I can give you more info and some pics if you want.
