I think ill go electric.

TD 20 And buy some more cymbals/pads later I can fit like another drum and 4 more cymbals into the unit i think which is all i need. Ultimately.

And for the starting set up its 9150 (Ican get it for) Which was the price for the shells alone (not even the extra toms i wanted) Of the reference.

I think it would be exelent for practicing and gigging until i make enough for the reference :>

nope i dont know much about electrics other than cheap versions miss fire. so i thohgt i would ask.

I used to have the Roland TD-20 drumset. They're nice!

For people who dont know. You cant get any higher than a TD twenty.

Unless you get two TD 20s and put two together. They are literally the ultimate inovation in electric drums and i dont see how buying any other type could compensate in any way. I have played them many times and always happy with them.

i'm thinking of buying the brain, triggers and mesh heads and converting my practice/student kit to an e kit.

Someone said buy the kit as a whole its cheaper but im lookin into that. I cant find anywhere online to buy just the triggers.

Its also gonna be wicked for recordign because you can take each individual track out seperately :>

i would still get the reference first. there will always be banks to rob, you can get the rolands later.

Because of the way my friend and i record. We like doing direct. This is direct as you can get it. Also Ill be moving into some dence residential area when i do So because ill practice at night more than day im better off with this until i get the reference just for gigging (Or day practice which wont happen much)

I must admit im a little bit unnerved by it.

I was thinking about sitting the kit up piece by piece so i got a kind of "Practice pad kit" Set up until i can afford the controller.

Or wait and get the whole hog right away on lone.

Anyone know any online stores i could look through for the pads?

ok, now i'mm laughing - stevo you crack me up bro - although, i;m not sure online will be the way to go. Your in australia like me yeah? Which means shipping is going to be a pain in the butt, plus exchange rates etc... from the online international stores. I think your probably better off just heading to a Billy Hyde or whoever your local store is and sorting it out with them.

Oh and to answer your question about the cymbals on an e-kit - only if they support choking - which the TD20 kit does. Majority of cheaper branded kits however this (along with dual triggering) are the first things to go.

Thats cool im only gonna get the 20 if i go through with it. Which i will.

I wanna get some extra pads after i have payed it off. And international is great if i can find a good place in america. Because of how close the exchange rates are and postage isnt thaaaat much. It still means i could save money even though you would have to pay for postage (But really australian ones have that put in the price when there imported tooo :P)

I brought a tone port for my guitar I got it half price coz i got it from america. Its a bit smaller but it sonly 100$au to get a acoustic kit from one side of oz to the other. Getting it from america would be 200 or 300 au. For saving 3 grand its worth it.
