So is this all the English DrumChatters out there?

I'm feeling a bit cut off from the forum, it's hard to make friends when everyone is on the other side of the world, and therefore in a totally different time zone. When I'm online the rest of the forum is asleep!

I'm in Huddersfield. For those that don't know where it is, look on a map for Leeds & it's 20 miles from there.

Now then boys! Ah, I'm feeling better already.

So who can recommend a decent drum shop in the North? I live not far away from Scheerers in Leeds, which is great, only I'd rather visit a store that I can park within a mile of.

    Any ideas..?

Rockem in Rotherham? Sell loads of drum gear. Not sure if its an e-shop tho so probably worth checking first. Easy parking but Canklow in Rotherham is a notoriously dodgy place so leave nothing in your car or park in the town and walk - about half a mile (I lived there for a few years). Its also only 7 miles from Sheffield so you could also check out Drum Stop.

Scheerers closed down last year unfortunately. I tend to get my stuff from a local music store in Hudds, or online - more often than not Drum-Stop in Sheffield or Rockem in Rotherham.

And me, they hiked their postage charges quite a bit recently - but if you check their sales on eBay they are still charging the older prices. Probably wont last long tho.

Funny thing is that the last guy I've just started teaching on Thursdays is from Yorkshire as well. I'll have to ask him which area. He's a good bloke, no fuss to teach. And another one is the father of one of my students.

Is Carlisle anywhere near you guys? Kenny, one of my guitarist mates is from there.

Carlisle is further North (about 100 miles from me), up near the Scottish border. Also, it's where my Grandfather was from.

Yes, like DODESKA said, about 100 miles further north - close to the western coast of Northern England.

Nice, thanks guys, I'll check those out. I've bought from Rockem before and they're really helpful, I imagine with such good supply and prices they must have a premises, I will look them up. Same goes for the peculiarly named PMT.

PMT is very easy to find, just off the ring road after the Harley showroom, down Kirkstall Road for about 100yards & it's on the left just after Staples.
