Couple of new videos

Last week I did a music/band camp that I do every summer. At the end of the week we do a performance of the songs we learned during the week, and I thought I would post a couple songs. Two of the guys I'm playing with are actually in my real band outside of this camp, Third Nature.

Besides these two we did "The Sentinel" by Judas Priest, which I haven't uploaded yet but I'll post it later if anyone wants to see it.

I know there are mistakes but keep in mind we had a week to learn these songs.

Very good job man. May I ask what is the name of the camp you attended? I sent my teenage kiddo to Camp Jam last summer that wansn't too bad. This one here in Houston was started up and still run by the 38. Special guitarist Jeff Carlisi. Pretty cool way to get some stage time experience.

Well done, especially the drum solo on Frankenstein! Frankenstein and Kid Charlemagne will always bring back fond memories from my college days. BTW, you still play the drums backward. I find it interesting how you choke up on the right hand stick, but hold the left one all the way at the end. Care to enlighten us on how that developed?

Wow, that brings back some memories. I can't count the times I played along with that song on a 45, in the 70's. You did a good job. And you've got your drums set up the right way, right to left.(lol) In the solo part you played your own stuff but you kept the spirit of the original in tact. Thanks for posting.

Hmm...I never noticed that until you pointed it out PB! I don't think I normally do that...I guess I just gripped one of the sticks a little lower or higher than usual for that song.

Nice job Matt! It's been fun watching your playing grow since your high school bands. This style of music seems to fit your drumming style better than the pop covers (which I know you didn't really want to play).

Imagine how much better you'd be if you set up your drums the "right" way .
