I've never played the speed cobra, but I know Rick and some others on here love it.
IMO, the IC is a great pedal, I have two and they work perfectly for me.
Good Luck

Consideration should be made with regards to actual condition of a used pedal.
Signature here
I played the Speed Cobra very briefly at my local drum shop. It felt very smooth and fast. The beater felt like it had very little resistance and the footboard's rebound was super fast due to the coil spring underneath it. I would save up and get a brand new Speed Cobra because of the newer features that Tama has developed for this line. If money is an issue, buying used is always a great way to save some cash. Either way, you are getting a solid product from Tama. Win win situation...
Either one. Can't lose with either, assuming the IC is in decent condition. I have an Iron Cobra that's over 10 years old and still slays.
Othicx,

Im looking for double.
Yeah I used to play an IC flexi glide and liked it so I know how I feel about the IC. I just don't have the option at this moment to go try out the SC. I am in no rush so saving up for the SC isn't an issue its just I don't want to pass up a good deal on the IC.
yeah Bish I hear what you are saying, I guess I can get him to send me some more pics to better judge the situation.
Good deals will always be out there. Decent pedals are a worthy investment but look at it this way. Let's say you jump on the IC because it's such a hot deal but it won't be long before you start eye ball'n the SC. Go hunt down a pair and try them out before you throw down some cash on a set of used pedals. If I had the cash right now, the SC would be in my arsenal but the DW5000A double pedals I use suits me fine.
I've been using a IC Powerglide for 7 years and it's been awesome.
I may have to try the Speed Cobra.
Ok.. I had to give up on a used Dbl speed cobra on the Bay today! see Bish I listened to you but...too much for me at the moment ..If the winning bidder is a DC'r then congrats.
Enjoy the Music!

BE COUNTED!
I have two IC's & they're great (along w/ a DW5000 and a Pearl Eliminator, all doubles, all really good pedals)! If it's in good shape I'm sure the IC will serve you well. That said, I always tell my students to buy the best equipment you can afford, esp with thrones and cymbals. Once you get past the mid-to upper-level on pedals I'm not sure it makes a huge difference in anything other than your pocketbook. I mean, before the Demon Drives, SCs, etc., came out, pros like Portnoy & others were using the same IC, Eliminators, & 5002s that I have now.
The only way I could justify that much for a "top-of-the-line" pedal would be if I was playing some seriously fast metal. But I'm not.
And all 4 of my pedals were bought used, off the 'bay.

Why not save and get a new Iron Cobra? The IC and SC cost the same amount. Try them both and see which you like better. Theres no right answer here, only your answer.
Too Much Stuff.
