North Florida

So I have a feeling I'm going to be pretty lonely on this thread for awhile, but I thought I should at least start one since those guys down south have their own.

I grew up in Tampa, but now I (happily) live in Middleburg. As it states in my profile, Middleburg is just a little southwest of Jacksonville.

Any one else here from the sunshine state?

No, but I'm nearby in the Bahamas. I've been to Florida a couple of times. Nice!

I've been your way a couple of times, too - but not the real Bahamas. Just the places they let the cruisers go - Nassau and Freeport. I do love Atlantis, though. My favorite artist has some sculptures there - Dale Chihuly.

That's cool. I've been to Atlantis myself. Quite an impressive place. I remember seeing those pieces that you pictured. I was in Freeport in June of '12. Very nice in a laid back kinda way. Unfortunately, I'm on Exuma (family island). It's kinda like the back water of the Bahamas. It is cool in it's own way. A natural charm of sorts. Some of the worlds most beautiful beaches. I'd love to explore a bit more of Florida, esp. up Orlanda way.

I used to spend my winters down there when I raced. Stayed at satilite beach. Have friends there so parked race trailer at there place lol
Loved eating at the old fish house Cocoa beach. And when I couldn't sleep walked around Ron Jons surf shop open 24 hrs

Never made it to Jacksonville. I did however live in Fort Walton Beach/Destin area for about 6 years. Saw my first concert at the Pensicola Convention Center.

Jason and I met while we were both students at UCF (Orlando). Cocoa was a short trip and a bunch of us made it often. Good times.
Of course, most of the races we caught were at Daytona USA, on 4 wheels rather than 2.

My sister lived in FWB for a couple of years after she graduated from FSU. IMO, the most beautiful beaches in Florida are on the Emerald Coast.

Well I'm back in ATL now but had a house up by JAX duval county for about a year. I thought it was pretty nice. Lived there during Tebow's seinor year at Florida. Every Saturday the Gators were on.
