that is small..good reason to have a string cajon and maybe a cymbal or two.

BE COUNTED!
I had to play in a restaurant booth before. Luckily they removed the table and patrons first. The rest of the band was in the aisle.
It was a well planned gig. I think I drank a half bottle of SoCo just to keep my sanity. The guitarist drank the other half but it was his bottle.

That's not a stage, it's a shelf.

That certainly brought back some "memories" of years gone by. I havent played one that small in many years but yeah - most of us at one time or another have played em that small or smaller.. Kick drum - mounted tom - snare - hat & the ride was also attached to the kick drum ( an old Ludwig jazz 20" kick ). Sat on the old Coke cases turned upside down with a thin pillow for the cushion.
We musicians will seemingly go to any length to play a gig...sometimes we even get paid for it all.
And she said "You're a Drummer? I thought you said you are a musician???

Never played on a "stage" that small.
Wouldn't play on a "stage" that small.
Sometimes I just want to take bongo drums to the gig. Easier to transport too.
how about a triangle and a box of matches? too lazy?
I'm sitting in the audience one day watching a band. The band is playing and this girl comes forward, carrying a triangle hanging from a string. Then the cue comes and she hits the triangle - ding! - and the crowd goes wild, people are cheering. This happened a few times. That audience just loved when she hit that triangle
And the matches would be for....?
all the best...

Ain't that the truth. Go go trio.
The only two constants I have are DW and Zildjian.

This stage reminds me of a set that Pearl Jam played in Zurich back in 1992.
Their drummer, normally playing on a massive cymbal setup, had to fall back to only a crash and a ride.
I actually would love to play a small stage like that sometime. Having to work with a smaller kit can really stimulate your creativity
copy and Paiste
I had to bump this thread to share what many of you have gone through. I subbed at the "last minute" for a drummer who couldn't make the gig due to an injured foot last Saturday night. I showed up early to get a jump on the set up:
Me: "Where do the drums go?".
Bartender: "Behind the pool table".
Me: "Behind it? You're kidding right??"
smaller that the smallest i've played.
Have you got you're ticket for the rock train? You gotta earn that Ticket!!

Nope. Murphy's Law in the Seminole Hard Rock area has a smaller stage, or it did the last time I was there. It's big enough for 2-3 dudes to stand with guitars plugged into the house panel on the wall behind them. I managed to get my drums set up there (standard 5 piece, hats, ride, two crashes), modifying the set up due to the lack of depth, but I kept pulling the mic cables out of the panel in the wall because I had to do things like move my hands to play. The rest of the band was on the dance floor, because the guitarist refused to have a drummer in front of him, so I also couldn't hear what the band was playing as the speaker cabs were in front of me and 4 feet below me. Good times. Good times.
