Default Spur of the moment purchase....

Stumbled across these over the weekend. 8x8, 10x9, 12x10, 14x14 and 20x17.5 Sonor Force 3003's in cherry stain. Shells(maple and basswood) are in great shape with a couple of very minor dings in the finish and some slight pedal rash. Clear G2's on the toms with some use still left in them and GMAD on the kick in very good shape. The kick is REALLY nice. Punchy and controlled but the pitch is surprising lower than I expected. The thicker GMAD might contribute to this. Toms have good all around sound. Medium tone and resonance. I think they would tune up much better with 2.3mm hoops vs the lighter 1.6mm.
Owner was asking $350 for the shell pack and tom mounts but I got him down to $300. All in all, I'm quite happy with the purchase. Fairly compact little kit for hauling around, looks good and gets the job done sonically!

You made out like a bandit!!! A lefty bandit by the pics. But two clamps for that cymbal holder looks like over-kill. Yet, you can't have too many clamps.

Very nice, My 1st kit was a 3003 in sparkle white standard sizes and man do I miss it. If I can find a reasonably priced white sparkle one I will buy it. I think I bought mine back in 2004 for $650 including shipping and sold it for $400 in 2007..

They are well built and sound decent enough to gig with. Put coated 2 ply's and you can dump the moongell.

I'm a coated 2-ply guy so that will most likely happen. The only exception is the 8". I find 2-ply heads choke on such a small drum. I'll put a single ply on it.
