Hello I am new here to this forum used to play in a band back in 69-72 and still have my double tom set of pearl white rogers set... just bought cymbals and stands and stuff I needed to set up and practice and get back to rocking in a band...

so have you found sticks with rubber type grips help or no big deal
    and if so which ones.

gloves do they help or no big deal...

those are my simple questions, and might have been asked before

Sticks with rubber type grips give me hellacious blisters. Your sticks are supposed to move around within your grip technique. Rubber coating inhibits this causing blisters. Do you need gloves because of blisters? And rubber coated sticks because your throwing your sticks? Blisters happen. Everybody has some. If you have many then I would look at how tightly your holding your sticks. As far as throwing your sticks, that's a grip technique thing as well. I used these to help develop my grip. Now there not needed anymore. Welcome to DC.

    Welcome to Drum Chat woodstockrocker!

I have been using Pro-Mark Stick Rapp. It improved the gripping surface, and added a little cushion. Having said that, I am also starting to transition back to just the au natural stick.

I have no comment to make on either gloves or sticks with rubber grips. I do, however, want to see pics of that Rogers kit. Please?

I use Vater cushioned stick tape. Very comfortable and never drop a stick.

Here is the unofficial official method that we have to use to post pictures on this site. Additionally in your case I believe you have to have at least 10 posts in order to be able to post pictures.
