Big +1 on the wrestling shoes. at least at home. Super flexible and light but you don't tear up feet/toes.

I saw Dave Weckl wearing a pair of Asics in his Vic Firth Spotlight video. If I still had mine I'd give them a go. Their split soles allow for a lot of flexibility.

I wear body glove water shoes they are for surfing and other water sports. They feel like your walking barefooted. I first started using them for martial arts then drumming. I recommended them to another martial artist who was doing it for 30 yrs or more and he loved them said the same thing check them out they only cost around 15 dollars

I find the best way for me to play is with a shoe with a very flexible but rubber (for grip) sole. Using Skechers now.
No prob. The search option leaves a lot to be desired. That's why there are a lot of repeat topics.

Whatever shoes I tend to have on, apart from great big boots! I'm generally alright with any time of shoe, have tried barefoot before, but just feels a little odd to me.. I'm the same with driving too

Actually I do like Crocs at home for rehearsing. They're kind of dorky for playing out and I have some RocPorts that are pretty comfortable.

I used to be really into Chuck Taylor's, like EddieV. Then my flAt feet and chronic
Foot problems got the better of me, and I had to give them away. I had over a dozen pair. If I was drumming back then, i would have happily given them
    To you, EV. Anyway.......

Bare or socked feet for me when drumming.
