    Default That ideal cymbal sound

Due to recording techniques, mics, vinyl vs tape vs cd vs mp3, the sounds heard on the tracks can't necessarily be reproduced in our drum rooms. With that being said, in a perfect world, what cymbal sound would you love to have? I personally, would love to have the ride cymbal sound from "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals. The warmth of that cymbal is just... perfect. But alas, I don't think I shall ever have that exact sound. What about you guys?

My perfect cymbal (especially the bell) sound is the sound of Bonham's in Whole Lotta Love. All those bells just sound fenomenal to me.

For many years I've always dug Manu Katché's choices in sounds, especially the splashes he picks. And yes, that is Clint Eastwood's son playing with him....great bassist for sure!

Ahh! That ever-elusive "perfect" cymbal sound . Good luck finding it.
